Introduction

pin 1This page shows the pin layouts of the various ICs used on the website. I only use 4000 series CMOS ICs at the moment and so these are the ones that are listed. However, there are 7400 series equivalents for every IC listed and a really good reference book is the CMOS Cookbook.

CAUTION: The 4000 series ICs are based on MOSFET technology which makes them very sensitive to static. Handle the ICs carefully!

The number 1 pin is identified by either a dot placed near the pin or by a semi-circular cut out at one end of the chip as shown.
